It’s a slightly crazy project — but an incredibly exciting one!
I began writing the story of Myrihandes (Meerhins) back in 2005. The first book was published in 2010. After parting ways with my publisher, I regained the rights and republished the first volume through crowdfunding. Then, in 2017 and 2018, volumes 2 and 3 were released — once again thanks to the amazing support I received on Ulule.
A turning point came in 2015 during my time at the Cannes Film Festival, where I met Jeffrey Mpondo — a singer, musician, and producer. After discovering the Myrihandes saga, he became convinced that this story, with its universal themes, deserved to be adapted for the screen.
That encounter was made possible thanks to Sabine Crossen — actress, director, and producer — whose work has been recognized with numerous awards around the world. She too felt deeply moved by this fantasy world centered on the concept of soulmates.
Since 2022, we’ve been working together to bring this project to life. Bénédicte Bernier, agent and editorial assistant, joined our team and translated many key documents into English. Then Eloïse Le Baud came on board, notably producing the sizzle reel and desk pitch for the film adaptation.
We’ve already made contact with studios and actors — but much work still lies ahead. We believe deeply in this story — a fantastical tale inspired by The Lord of the Rings, Romeo and Juliet, and The Dark Crystal, a film that has greatly shaped my imagination as a novelist.
We will get there.
Will you be part of the adventure?
